The Traveling Teacup Finds Herself in a Beautiful Texas Garden

Welcome back to the tales of The Traveling Teacup! This stop is in Humble TX, with Carol – a wonderful Mantel and Table reader with a lovely garden!

We have lots of lovely photos to see, and stories to hear, but first, let’s catch up on our teacup’s travels.

Back to the Beginning

Everything started with this post, The Exciting Beginnings of The Traveling Teacup.

Our teacup’s first stop was just down the freeway, and then she was off around the country and even some other countries! She acquired the name Tessa Rose, (and variations thereof,) and met so many wonderful people! Here’s the list of her visits so far:

Stop #26 ~ Carol’s Lovely Humble TX Garden

This leg of Tessa Rose’s journey was just over 2000 miles. I sure wish I could use her frequent flyer points!

Carol has written a wonderful account of their time together, so I’m going to let her tell the story.

Ms. Tessa Rose Traveling Tea Cup (TTC) Heads South

Mother Nature and the Post Office collaborated together to have the traveling tea cup arrive right before Easter with spring weather perfection for our outdoor holiday dinner in Humble (silent H), Texas.

We were fortunate to have a small family gathering of eight, with everyone either on their first or second covid vaccines. We felt blessed to have some of our pandemic anxiety reduced to be able to celebrate together. The splashing sounds of the pool fountains helped us feel in harmony with the festive occasion.

Hopefully it helped distract from all the landscaping damage from our unfortunate freeze in February. Many in Texas are still dealing with severe damage from burst water pipes, so we feel fortunate.

Ms. TTC fit right in like a natural with her charming personality and impeccable manners.

I’m just SO charmed by Carol’s darling Easter fruit tray – isn’t that the cutest thing? I can’t wait to try it next year!

In the Garden

Ms. Rosie graciously asked for a tour of the garden that burst forth in all its glory despite our four days of winter in February, and posed with many of the posies.

Oh my gosh those amaryllis are gorgeous aren’t they? Up here in Portland, you don’t see them growing in the ground like that very much. I’m really only used to seeing them in pots at the holidays, so this is pretty exciting!

A Visit to Another New Friend

Wrapping up Ms. Rosie’s stay, we made a trip to tea loving, fellow china aficionado’s home for a selfie, prior to packing up her sweet self and moving on to her next adventure.

Thank You Carol!

And what a lovely adventure you gave her Carol! Plus, the flowers in your garden were just what I needed to jump into spring! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful teacup host!

  1. Hello Barbara, such a lovely idea!! I have heard of your traveling teacup and it is a sweet idea to see where it goes. My son and his class sent their paper Flat Stanley’s all over and his ended up going overseas somewhere when my aunt sent it to a friend. Beautiful places to visit! I saved your post to my Tea Time board on P to come back and read all the connected posts.

    Enjoy sending it onward,
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂

    1. Aren’t you sweet?! Thanks so much Barb! It IS so fun to follow her journey and I’m sure you’ll enjoy all the creative ideas and great photography of our wonderful hosts! 🙂 My kids were a little too old when Flat Stanley started, but it looks as much fun as we’ve been having with Tessa Rose! Thanks again for stopping by – Happy Tuesday!

  2. What a beautiful post – Carol’s pictures were just beautiful. I know our Tessa Rose must’ve surely enjoyed spending time in the beautiful grounds and at that jaw-dropping fountain! WOW! What a lovely sight.

  3. The flowers in her garden are stunning! Also makes me anxious for some more sunny weather here in Portland so we can see a few more flowers showing their colors!

  4. Oh goodness. What a lovely space. The flowers are such a perfect backdrop for TR – what wouldn’t they be the perfect backdrop for lol? I heard about the snowmageddon there – such crazy weather. Glad to see their yard is getting back to normal. Longing for garden flowers up here…

    1. I know Cindy – me too! We’ve actually started putting in some flowering plants from the nursery, so I’m feeling much more springy this week! 🙂 Hope you have a lovely day and weekend over there!

    1. Isn’t that the cutest? I’d almost hate to eat it if I didn’t love pineapple so much! 🙂 Too bad TR couldn’t just pop over and say hi while she was in your neighborhood. Thanks for continuing to follow along, Andrea – you hosts are the best!

    1. Hi – I love all her flowers. TX is such a different gardening region, and I really LOVE those amaryllis just growing outside! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by – see you soon!
