Luxurious Snowy White, Sparkling Crystal, & Evergreens Combine for a Perfect Holiday Tablescape!

Snowy White Tablescape

We don’t get a lot of snow here in the Pacific Northwest, so I like to create my own snowy white tablescape to make our wet winter feel more “traditional.”

Full White Eucalyptus Holiday Table

I wanted Crisp, Elegant, and Luxurious, but maybe not quite as formal as a full white tablecloth would invoke.  So I used this smaller square cloth, and put it at an angle on the table.  It’s a lovely white, and has lots of texture.

Then pure white napkins in a slightly different pattern added to the snowy look.  I didn’t use napkin rings this time because I didn’t want to detract from the pure white.  (If I’d had some clear glass or silver sparkle ones, I might have tried those!)

Placesetting & Centerpiece

White Tablescape with Silver Chargers

And silver!  These are my regular chargers that I use so often.  They’re so versatile – as you can see, they do Elegant really well!  They also do Casual, and anything in between.  They’re that hard plastic, and are inexpensive, durable, etc.  I love them!  You can see them in a completely different – not quite so white tablescape in this post.

White China

I so love this silver-rimmed white china, but I only have two place settings. So I mixed them up among the six places, and used my everyday white plates for the rest.  The plate stack above has the salad plate from the set.  Two of the places had this combination.

Two had the patterned dinner plate.

Accent Plate Stack

And two had this beautiful accent plate.  I originally got these plates for a special project, which is why I only have two place settings.  But more about that another time.

Sparkle For Our White Tablescape

Cut Crystal Glasses

There’s nothing like cut glass or crystal for sparkle on a table!  These glasses are two of my vintage shop finds, which I use over and over again.  All you really need to do to elevate any table is add some faceted glass!

Silver Candelabra

Candelabra are always a great silver choice too.  I got these at Good Will for $35 for the pair!  I’m sure I’ve mentioned before how much I love thrift shops.  And for whatever reason, I always seem to find lots of beautiful silver pieces at really good prices!

Greens & Roses

White Rose & Evergreen Centerpiece

So now that my white tablescape was all set, I got to do the centerpiece.  I wanted something really simple and elegant that reflected the season, so evergreens!

Just a few boughs in the middle of the table with a few seeded eucalyptus branches were a great base.  All it needed after that was some white roses tucked in the middle.  Simple.  Elegant.

It was a little tricky to keep the evergreens from attacking the plates, but a little judicious maneuvering (ok, sticking the branches under the chargers,) solved the problem!

The Rest of the Room

Full room with white tablesetting and evergreen decorations

I also like to put some decorations in other parts of the room.  In this case it was easy to keep with the feel of the table – just put out anything silver or white!  Silver candlesticks with a silver ice bucket full of greenery adds a nice touch on the built-ins.

Evergreen wreath with white roses

I also got this simple wreath at Trader Joe’s.  (I took off the huge pine cones that were on it originally.  I’ll use those for something else later maybe.)  After that, I just added some seeded eucalyptus and one of the white roses.  I love simple wreaths like this for the dining room.

It’s so easy to switch out the flowers when your table setting changes.  I do use water tubes in my wreaths so the flowers stay as fresh as possible.

Full Table & Front Doors

On the other side of the room, we have an old phonograph cabinet and a framed photograph that we love.  They stay there almost all the time, and I usually put candles and/or flowers on the cabinet.

I had just gotten a lovely white orchid as a hostess gift from one of my very sweet friends.  This was the perfect place for it!

I always love these reflections!  Here’s one last look at the snowy white tablescape.  Drop me a Comment and let me know what you do with your evergreens!  Happy Holidays!

  1. Beautiful table Barbara – I’m not sure how I missed it the first time, but I’m really glad you shared it again! The snowy white theme and fresh greens and white roses with the silver and crystal is such a perfect combination. I love love those plates with the black rim around them – so pretty! And I love how you turned the table cloth on the diagonal. Just perfect!
